Understanding Depression – FPUK.co

depressed pic

Have you ever been plagued by depression? Yes, “plagued,” because it affects nearly 1 in 4 adults in the UK alone! Not to mention the number of adolescents who must deal with depression daily.

What does depression look like for you? You can’t concentrate at work, you’re exhausted, feeling hopeless, empty or alone? A lot of people suffer from depression, but it is rarely acknowledged or treated.

You can numb it out with medications without ever dealing with the actual root of it. Unfortunately, unless you get down to real cause, your problem will not just go away!

I’ve spoken with several people who had dealt with depression for decades. And even after 10-20 years worth of antidepressants it didn’t solve their problems!

One woman in particular, Barbara, mentioned that her mother called her lazy when she was growing up! She didn’t even know she was coping with depression until many years later.

If you’re a parent, this is important! Depression can seem like laziness or some sort of choice, but it could really be your children dealing with a much larger problem.

The only thing that is going to solve your depression or your child’s, is going back to the root of the issue and throwing out that nasty rubbish. For some people, it’s their parents’ divorce, a bad relationship break-up, abuse, or some type of unforgiveness that has sewn a rotting, stinking seed of depression in your life.

And do you know how that seed gets fed? This is important for those of you who are not struggling with depression, but could be close to that full-out battle. You feed that seed by focusing on it. How you think, determines what you speak, and what you speak then determines how you live (or don’t live). What you feed will flourish and what you neglect will die.

If you’ve been speaking death over your life, your dreams, your actions or even over your kids – that needs to stop!

Build Your Circle Of Friends – FPUK.co

ripple fpuk.co

Hi Friends,
Back from honeymoon now – Sorry its been a while since I last posted, but 1 month ago yesterday we got married and then took time out in Egypt to relax and although I took my trusted iPad planning to continue my blogging whilst there, wisdom and relaxation took over.
But while we were there we met and built our circle of friends, talking about life around the pool or while on the beach we met so many people, some happy as they escaped reality and their stress back home and some like us that enjoy life and all it gives us. But today I want to continue talking about friends and the ripple effect it causes building true friendships.

What would you say if I told you you are wasting one of your biggest assets? You’d probably want to know what it was! You see, every human has a circle of influence. In fact, the average person knows 2,000 people by the time they are 20 years old.

That means every day you have the power to influence thousands of people just by stating an opinion, sharing life experiences and recommending other businesses.

You can choose to ignore your circle of influence, like the majority of people do. Or you can utilise this resource to build your business, find a job, look for a date or expose your product or service.

I imagine you’re reminded of a few slimy “friends” you once had on Facebook who wouldn’t stop pushing their business in your face until you were so exhausted you finally “unfriended” them. But that isn’t what I mean. You can utilise your influence without resorting to shameless self-promotion.

What I am talking about is creating a mutually-beneficial relationship. How many times have you heard an acquaintance, friend or family member express a need for something? They’re looking for a hair stylist, they just put their house on the market… etc.

What you do is become a connector. Help your friends fill their needs! Know someone who is recruiting and another person that is looking for a job? Refer your friend.

I’m a firm believer that what you hand out, you will get back. So when you give referrals, who do you think is the first name they will think of when referring within their circle of influence? Becoming a resource for your friends not only increases your value, but it’s essentially setting up free advertising for yourself. Not only that, but you are helping the people in your life and strengthening those relationships.

Marketers are always trying to get to your list. Think of it this way – Abercrombie isn’t about getting YOU to buy their clothes. They are about getting you to advertise for them. That’s why they put their label on the outside. You are advertising their clothes to your circle of influence. So if these marketers find your list so valuable, why don’t YOU use your own list???

Building a list and using the resources that are right in front of you will open so many doors and opportunities: jobs, loyal clients, better relationships and more! You should be consistently building and adding to your list of resources.

Start asking “Who do I know?” You’d be surprised by the number of people you actually know and the possible resources you are wasting.

Thats it for today, build your list, talk to 5 more people and ask for a business card or phone number, and of course give your out too.

I encourage you today to get these principles working in your favour. Don’t leave your success to chance — follow the laws and create your dream life!

Activate that circle of influence today and please take a minute to pass this message along to your friends, family and colleagues today. You never know who desperately needs this guidance and direction for their lives, so share this on your social media sites, print it out and pass it around or simply forward this email. Please retweet this.

Residual Income = Time Freedom – FPUK.co

time freedom3

Hi Friends,

I’m getting a little bit excited now, as many of you know I’m getting married this Saturday and my Event Planner iPhone app is telling me its only 2 days 6 hours and 2 minutes away – Wow !!

I’m off very soon to go and collect some very good friends from the airport that are coming to stay and attend our wedding, and thats really part of what I want to talk to you all today about.

Taking Time Off, when I need is one of the many benefits of working for my self, and I’ve done this for 9 years now. Every time one of my children has had a school assembly or a school lunch for fathers I’ve been able to attend, I’ve been able to take my children to school and pick them up if I’ve wanted and been their for the important events. I haven’t had to ask the boss for time off, ok all I’ve had to do is rearrange my diary with my clients but as long as my appointments have been met thats been ok, but thats the thing in my diary my children’s events are listed in my list of appointments as important as a business client. This is where getting your life plan balance correct and I’ve talked about that in other posts.

But now, taking time off when i wanted just meant taking time off, I’m the boss right so i can say i’m going to the airport this morning and no-one can complain or get jealous for me being missing again. But in the past, if I took too much time off my income dipped a little, but time and money are the 2 things we always need more of and always run out very quickly. But now since adding an extra income stream, I have money coming in whether I work or take time off.

Residual Income is a term very misunderstood, but its a term that is becoming more popular as we understand and compare earning types. Many people get paid linear income, they get paid the same each week or month for the work they have done, whether they have worked extra hard or just done their job, they get paid the same. They have been paid for the number of hours they’ve done i.e a 40 hour week with half hour for lunch resulting in a 37.5 hour week. Others get paid for productivity, producing items for sale and often the hours put in doesn’t justify the retail price of the product covering the time spent, as in artists and crafts people. In both these examples as soon as they stop working and don’t do anything their income stops. With residual income, work is done for very little effort which then earns income continuously without any manual input to keep it coming in, and this is what my newest income steam is – Residual Income. Now this truly allows me to take time off as and when I want without having to book my holidays with the boss and getting it on the calendar early so as not to miss out.

Are these important to you:

  • Time Freedom
  • Residual Income
  • Top up your pension
  • Financial Peace
  • Working where and when you want
  • Spending time with family or children

If the answer to any of these is Yes then take a look at earning Residual Income, which can be ran alongside your part/full time job or self employed role until the level is correct for you and then you can Jump Ship to your new lifestyle. I know i’d rather work hard for the next 5 years to then receive my current yearly salary paid to me each month without much input, and I’ve got many friends doing just that for just a few hours a week.

I encourage you today to get these principles working in your favour. Don’t leave your success to chance — follow the laws and create your dream life!

Please take a minute to pass this message along to your friends, family and colleagues today. You never know who desperately needs this guidance and direction for their lives, so share this on your social media sites, print it out and pass it around or simply forward this email. Get Things Done

Have you noticed how busy people are today? It’s almost as if busyness is perceived as success… As if being busy was the same as getting things done.

I think in today’s world, we tend to glorify busyness. Just look around you. Think about how many times a day you hear others say, “Gosh, I’m so busy today!” or “Wow, what a busy week!” How many times a day do you feel like you’re running around in circles, jumping from one task to another, all the while, taking phone calls, texting, and answering emails?

We teach our kids to be busy, between homework and football and sailing and piano lessons and dance and gymnastics and church and chores. You hand them a piece of toast and rush them out the door early in the morning to take them to school, and then pick them up after school and race from one activity to the next, and picking up dinner from a drive-thru somewhere in there. By the time you get home in the evening, everyone is wiped out and grouchy, and it’s time for bed. (Sleep, wake up, repeat.)

We are busy at work and busy at home. We are busy in the car while driving, busy at the dinner table, and we’re even busy while we’re on the toilet! We are busy 24/7.

What does it feel like to be busy? Your heart is beating fast, you may be short of breath, and you feel like you just can’t move fast enough. You’re trying to keep up with your to-do list that seems to be growing faster than you’re marking things off. You’re working 60 hours a week just so you don’t get any further behind than you already are.

There’s something I learned many years ago, and I’m telling you, I live by this truth. That is, you do not get paid for the time you put in, but for the results you produce. When you produce results, you raise your value, which means you raise your pay.

But it seems like most people today are so busy, we aren’t getting anything done. We are so busy, we aren’t producing results. And if we’re not producing results – at home, at school, at work, at church – we’re wasting time, energy, and money. Busyness produces stress, burnout, no fun, poor relationships, and poor health. We can be busy, or we can be productive. One produces results, and one produces excuses. (When’s the last time you heard – or even said – “I can’t, I’m busy”?)

It’s so easy to fill hours with non-productive things. It’s easy to over-complicate things and create more work for ourselves.

That’s why it’s so important to identify and eliminate the nonsense things on your list. What is on your to-do list that is not benefiting you, your business, your career, your health, or your family? What unnecessary steps can you eliminate from your processes in order to streamline and simplify? What distractions are in your life that cause your focus to be scattered? All of these things lead to busyness, not productivity.

This is so NOT just about making more money, though that is part of it. This is about eliminating stress, having more fun, setting the right example for your children, protecting your health, and accomplishing your goals.

It’s easy to get into a rut of busyness and to just stop thinking about what we’re doing and whether or not we’re producing results. But today, let’s stop and check that out. Do not go mindlessly through your day today. Instead, pay attention to what you’re doing and look at the results you’re getting. The results will tell you where your focus should be!

The majority of the population is running around like a chicken with its head cut off, always doing something, but not producing consistent results. But you are not supposed to be one of them. How do I know that? Because you are reading this post right now. You are reading this because it’s time for you to step up and take control of your time.

When you do this, you will make more money, have less stress, have more time to spend with your friends and family, and finally be able to accomplish the goals that you have continued to put off because you’ve just been too busy to do anything about them. My friend, it’s time to stop the glorification of “busy”, and start producing results!

Who do you know that needs to read this today? Go ahead and pass this link along to your friends, family, and colleagues, or even forward the email or print it out for them. Can you imagine if your entire family or company was focused on producing results instead of just being busy all the time? What a different environment that would be. 🙂
