Understanding Depression – FPUK.co

Have you ever been plagued by depression? Yes, “plagued,” because it affects nearly 1 in 4 adults in the UK alone! Not to mention the number of adolescents who must deal with depression daily.

What does depression look like for you? You can’t concentrate at work, you’re exhausted, feeling hopeless, empty or alone? A lot of people suffer from depression, but it is rarely acknowledged or treated.

You can numb it out with medications without ever dealing with the actual root of it. Unfortunately, unless you get down to real cause, your problem will not just go away!

I’ve spoken with several people who had dealt with depression for decades. And even after 10-20 years worth of antidepressants it didn’t solve their problems!

One woman in particular, Barbara, mentioned that her mother called her lazy when she was growing up! She didn’t even know she was coping with depression until many years later.

If you’re a parent, this is important! Depression can seem like laziness or some sort of choice, but it could really be your children dealing with a much larger problem.

The only thing that is going to solve your depression or your child’s, is going back to the root of the issue and throwing out that nasty rubbish. For some people, it’s their parents’ divorce, a bad relationship break-up, abuse, or some type of unforgiveness that has sewn a rotting, stinking seed of depression in your life.

And do you know how that seed gets fed? This is important for those of you who are not struggling with depression, but could be close to that full-out battle. You feed that seed by focusing on it. How you think, determines what you speak, and what you speak then determines how you live (or don’t live). What you feed will flourish and what you neglect will die.

If you’ve been speaking death over your life, your dreams, your actions or even over your kids – that needs to stop!

Have Money Work Harder Than You – FPUK.co

sales

Hi Friends,

I was talking to a new friend yesterday who is struggling to make ends meet but wants and needs to make a difference to their lives, and she truly believed that by having more jobs and working all the hours that come it would make a difference. But their health was deteriorating to a point that they had to take sick days from each of the jobs on a regular basis, I explained that working smarter rather than harder was the real answer, having money work for her rather than working harder for money.

I’m about to share a huge secret with you today. Did you realise most people honestly believe that the means to real financial independence is through a higher salary or working every hour that comes? How about you?

Are you working for someone else in a 9 to 5 Rat-Race, just trying to continue up the corporate ladder to a point where you can finally “get ahead” financially? Or, are you chasing the great “Dream” of starting your own business on the side maybe to follow your passion, or as a way to generate extra income or just to be able to jump off that 9 to 5 Rat-Race?

Trust me, working full-time and starting your own business is a recipe for disaster as you work ’round the clock and only see slow, tiny steps forward on the path to increase your wealth!

Well, here’s the secret… very few millionaires make their money from a salary! And you can bet those CEOs at the top of the corporate food chain make tremendous sacrifices of their time and in their relationships to earn that 7-figure salary.

So, you’ve got to be asking yourself, “Where are all these millionaires getting this money if not from big-name jobs and salaries?” This is about so much more than making money, this is about creating genuine wealth. If we both stopped working today, we would still have a steady money flow for years to come. Why? Because we have multiple streams of residual income!

Now, you might think that investing is too risky. And it’s never too soon or too late to start.

In our house, we aren’t in the business of giving our children a free ride or life handed to them on a silver platter. They have to know the power of earning their own money and what it can do for them.

So, Friends you’ve got to ask yourself, “If a 11-17 year-olds can find the means to start investing, then what’s holding me back?” Or you could say, “Hey, I wonder how they do that?” If they could do it, then you most certainly can! Look into it yourself! You might learn a few things — starting right here:

Ask yourself why you want to start a business.

Is it to be your own boss?

Create a legacy for your children?

Attain financial independence?

Creating time freedom?

Maybe it’s all of the above. But identifying your specific motives helps to establish a true vision for your goal. And there is no right or wrong answer! It really is okay to just be in it for the money!
Start investing NOW. If you ever want your bottom line to increase, you’ve got to start investing now. And I do mean NOW — you can’t wait for that “when you have the money” or “when the economy gets better” excuses! Set aside money each payday, whether it is £5, £50, £500 or more… just do it and earmark it strictly for investments. It will make the “big risk” seem a lot less scary. Initially build yourself your emergency fund that isn’t touched unless it for an emergency and I mean emergency, and if you need to dip into for the emergency then replace that money as soon as is possible then continue putting money into savings again not tone touched. Then when you make money from those initial small investments, turn that money around for more and new investments.
Continue to put money in savings. Remember wealth isn’t just about how much you earn, it is often about how much you KEEP. Realize that most savings accounts are just money saved to use later.
Increasing your bottom line is simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. It requires an investment from you! That investment could be your time, your training or your skill sets.

I encourage you today to get these principles working in your favour. Don’t leave your success to chance — follow the laws and create your dream life!

How To Find True Happiness – FPUK.co

Happiness Green Road Sign with Dramatic Clouds and Sky.

Hi Friends,

This time next week our wedding weekend will have passed and I will be a married man, in fact according to an app on my iPhone in 5 days 8 hours and 38 minutes, but do you know since my fiancee said “Yes” I have had peace and joy in my heart every single day. But thats added a depth of happiness on top of my daily peace I experience each and every day.

It pleases me that each day of my life, I experience feelings of happiness. I focus on finding joy at some time of the day. My reality is wonderful because I experience so many things that bring me happiness.

In the morning, I wake up with feelings of refreshment and wonder. I think about what my day might bring. Perhaps I can see an old friend today. Maybe this is the day that the love of my life surprises me with something special. As the sun rises, my joy is just beginning.

Most days when I head to visit a client I will take the coast road to see the ocean, the continuous waves and movement of the sea for me is a relaxing and calming experience, what is yours?

Although some things that make me happy are fleeting, I know I have many reasons to be happy. I make an effort to keep those reasons in my mind each day.

The love of my partner, the pleasure of watching my children grow, the fascination of my work, and the unknown elements to come in life all make me feel happy.

My enjoyment of the day keeps my spirits high. I smile to myself because I feel gratitude for my life and this day. The joy I feel at this moment reminds me of all the love I have in my life.

Today, I recognize the many reasons that enable me to experience daily happiness. Every day brings another chance to feel joy and remind myself of the love and happiness in my life. And I am thankful.

Life leaves bitter and sweet tastes in the mouth. It’s easy to find yourself on the lawn of negativity, drinking from a glass half empty on grass that definitely isn’t as green as your neighbours’. Then, in the space of a day or so, everything can seem like sunshine and lollipops again.

Your feelings may well be in constant flux, but God wants to give us a steady, deeper joy, that’s not based on surface level happiness or sadness. Thinking negatively about ourselves or our situation doesn’t improve things, even if we think that we’re just being ‘realistic’. It’s not delusional to focus on being positive. Words have power in our lives and so does our thought life. Don’t feed your heart with the wrong stuff.

Do you imagine God looking down on us negatively? Rick Warren wrote this, ‘God is love. He didn’t need us. But he wanted us. And that is the most amazing thing.’ God has bound Himself to you – that’s not something that changes from day to day, even if we feel far from Him. Whatever negative spin you can put on your lot in life, God says He intends ‘to prosper you and not to harm you… to give you hope and a future.’ (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) Live in this deeper joy.

What now?

Self-Reflection Questions:

What are some sources of my happiness?
Do I allow myself to feel daily joy?
How can I increase my awareness of what makes me happy, thereby increasing my feelings of happiness?

Living with an attitude of gratitude helps start this process for many people. I want you to “Thank every single person who has ever told you that you can’t because they are just another reason why you will” succeed in whatever you put your efforts into achieving.

I encourage you today to get these principles working in your favour. Don’t leave your success to chance — follow the laws and create your dream life!

Get Things Done

Have you noticed how busy people are today? It’s almost as if busyness is perceived as success… As if being busy was the same as getting things done.

I think in today’s world, we tend to glorify busyness. Just look around you. Think about how many times a day you hear others say, “Gosh, I’m so busy today!” or “Wow, what a busy week!” How many times a day do you feel like you’re running around in circles, jumping from one task to another, all the while, taking phone calls, texting, and answering emails?

We teach our kids to be busy, between homework and football and sailing and piano lessons and dance and gymnastics and church and chores. You hand them a piece of toast and rush them out the door early in the morning to take them to school, and then pick them up after school and race from one activity to the next, and picking up dinner from a drive-thru somewhere in there. By the time you get home in the evening, everyone is wiped out and grouchy, and it’s time for bed. (Sleep, wake up, repeat.)

We are busy at work and busy at home. We are busy in the car while driving, busy at the dinner table, and we’re even busy while we’re on the toilet! We are busy 24/7.

What does it feel like to be busy? Your heart is beating fast, you may be short of breath, and you feel like you just can’t move fast enough. You’re trying to keep up with your to-do list that seems to be growing faster than you’re marking things off. You’re working 60 hours a week just so you don’t get any further behind than you already are.

There’s something I learned many years ago, and I’m telling you, I live by this truth. That is, you do not get paid for the time you put in, but for the results you produce. When you produce results, you raise your value, which means you raise your pay.

But it seems like most people today are so busy, we aren’t getting anything done. We are so busy, we aren’t producing results. And if we’re not producing results – at home, at school, at work, at church – we’re wasting time, energy, and money. Busyness produces stress, burnout, no fun, poor relationships, and poor health. We can be busy, or we can be productive. One produces results, and one produces excuses. (When’s the last time you heard – or even said – “I can’t, I’m busy”?)

It’s so easy to fill hours with non-productive things. It’s easy to over-complicate things and create more work for ourselves.

That’s why it’s so important to identify and eliminate the nonsense things on your list. What is on your to-do list that is not benefiting you, your business, your career, your health, or your family? What unnecessary steps can you eliminate from your processes in order to streamline and simplify? What distractions are in your life that cause your focus to be scattered? All of these things lead to busyness, not productivity.

This is so NOT just about making more money, though that is part of it. This is about eliminating stress, having more fun, setting the right example for your children, protecting your health, and accomplishing your goals.

It’s easy to get into a rut of busyness and to just stop thinking about what we’re doing and whether or not we’re producing results. But today, let’s stop and check that out. Do not go mindlessly through your day today. Instead, pay attention to what you’re doing and look at the results you’re getting. The results will tell you where your focus should be!

The majority of the population is running around like a chicken with its head cut off, always doing something, but not producing consistent results. But you are not supposed to be one of them. How do I know that? Because you are reading this post right now. You are reading this because it’s time for you to step up and take control of your time.

When you do this, you will make more money, have less stress, have more time to spend with your friends and family, and finally be able to accomplish the goals that you have continued to put off because you’ve just been too busy to do anything about them. My friend, it’s time to stop the glorification of “busy”, and start producing results!

Who do you know that needs to read this today? Go ahead and pass this link along to your friends, family, and colleagues, or even forward the email or print it out for them. Can you imagine if your entire family or company was focused on producing results instead of just being busy all the time? What a different environment that would be. 🙂
