How to be a Real Leader – Andrew Chenery

Leadership chart
Hi Friends,

Leadership is one of the key components for success in the world today (and yesterday). If you’re a business owner, it’s something you must work on and develop every day of your life! But, too often if you don’t see yourself in that traditional leadership position, you might fail to see the importance of showing or grooming your “leader” skill set.

Most people don’t realize the power and influence they have over others. If you’re a mother, you have a huge realm of influence. If you’re a teacher, you’re a leader. Even, if you’re just an “ordinary” person living your life, you have influence over your friends and neighbors!

Think about it, when you’re looking for a new doctor or place to eat, someone to cut your hair, or even to take your dry cleaning… where do you go? To your friends! In this same way you have a similar power of influence over others.

Today, consider the qualities you think make a good leader. Honestly, the only wrong answer is the non-answer! No matter what kind of leader you want to be, there will always be people who don’t agree with what you believe in. And you know what? That is okay!

If you want to continue growing your skills, growing your leadership, take a realistic look at yourself and purposely pinpoint and list your flaws. As the New Year approaches, think about what you could do better and where you can be a better leader – whether at work, in the home or even on Facebook.

If you aren’t sure what makes a strong leader, that is okay too. It’s been a very long time since our society and even our nation has had a strong, compassionate and unifying leader.

Think about the last time you met or heard about a leader who totally inspired you. And if no one comes to mind, then think about a leader who completely missed the mark and what qualities and behaviors they were missing.

About 15 years ago, I met up with a group of entrepreneurs. Because I learned at a young age if there was something I wanted in life to find someone else who has what you want and to do what they do. I studied under this group for years on how to become successful in business and to make money.

If you’re trying to figure out how to become a great leader in life, use that same principle here! Start writing down what traits and assets you think go into a great leader – drawn either from good examples, or bad, in your personal life.

As this New Year fast approaches, let’s rise us up as leaders like our nation has not seen in many, many years. When you’re thinking about your resolutions for 2014, go bigger than you did last year! Come up with something you can work on in your life that could have a huge impact on your circle of influence, your business and your family.

Tell me what characteristics you think make a great leader, and don’t forget to “Like” and “Share” this post on your social media. And for those leaders in your life, be sure to share this message with them… they need to know they have an impact on your life – and who knows, someone may tell you what an awesome leader YOU are!

Tips to being Happy – Andrew Chenery

Hi,

Have you ever wondered where you could find that magical formula for happiness? It’s got to be a fantasy, right? Because everyone knows that “happily ever after” really doesn’t exist. Or does it?

Believe it or not, but I’m here to tell that 98% of the population doesn’t realize that “happily ever after” really IS achievable at any time!

What most of these people encounter on their quest to achieve that elusive state of happiness is a mind-set that their happiness hinges on just ONE thing. Like, “If only I found my soul mate, I’d be happy forever.” And after they find their spouse, it then changes to, “If only I had my dream career, I’d really find happiness.”

So, they spend their whole lives looking for the next “thing” guaranteed to make them happy. And in the process, they miss all those things in their life every day, along their path, right in front of them, that could be the true source of their joy and contentment!

In today’s world, happiness is more of a far-off goal — the ultimate destination — and you are expected to accept your journey to really be about just “settling” for something less. “Happy” acts as the carrot right in front of your nose, but remainsjuuuust out of reach.

According to research, a revision is being proposed to expand the conditions included within the psychiatric disorder classifications. Another form of depression? Possibly something brought on by all this new technology? Guess again… it’s happiness! Ummmm, what the heck?! In this proposal to classify “happiness” as a psychiatric disorder, the author states that happiness is“statistically abnormal.”

The truth is there are people out there who just don’t want you to be happy. In fact, a majority of people in high places would prefer you to stay stuck in your rut, dumbed out, numbed out and just barely getting by. Why? Because then they can sell you solutions to all your “problems.”

I’m declaring today, enough is enough! I’m here to tell you that happiness is not determined by your circumstances. It’s determined by YOU. If you’ve been around my community or interacted with all of our amazing clients on Facebook, you see the proof! We have countless stories of people who have restored relationships, paid off debt, become financially independent and brought harmony into their family. These are the true causes for happiness, celebration and positive attitudes!

There’s nothing wrong with being happy, or wanting to better your life. And you can start right now by taking these steps to increase your happiness:

1. Choose to be happy: Recognize that it is a choice. You can choose to let little things get you down, tie your happiness to the decisions and actions of others, or you can decide to let it go!

Choose positivity, choose life, choose happiness.

2. Cultivate a culture of gratitude: Do you have an amazing spouse or beautiful, uniquely-gifted, children? Relish this and celebrate daily in the awesome of your life! What do you have that others say they would love to swap places with you for?

3. Don’t hold grudges: Choose to forgive, even if others have not asked for forgiveness or apologized. You don’t need to hang on to their stuff and that hurt will do nothing to better your life or help you achieve happiness.

4. Feed yourself positive things: What you feed will flourish, what you neglect will die. If you are feeding and focusing on the positive things in your life, you will see growth in that area. If all you focus on is the bad, negative things, you might notice major growth in THAT area of your life.

5. Surround yourself with positive people: Birds of a feather flock together. If your family, friends and community are focusing on the good in life, instead of being “Debby Downers” who always linger on the bad, you will see a drastic change in your life. Have you ever heard the term, misery loves company? DON’T BE ITS COMPANY!

6. Do something meaningful: When your life, your career or actions have a higher purpose, it makes you feel more accomplished. Whether it’s spending time with your loved ones, spending time working for a good cause or spending time on something of great importance to you.

Friend, today I want you to embrace happiness. Choose to stop living in misery, because it never got anyone, anywhere. Unhappiness keeps you stuck in debt, focused on material things, and basically just dependent, overworked, overstressed and miserable!

Declare your own independence today and spread the good word: BE HAPPY! Together, we can beat the odds and make happiness the statistical norm. Tell me what makes YOU happy and encourage everyone you know to choose happiness by sharing this post. And, please be sure to “Like” and share today’s message… because “liking” is all about happiness, right?!

Open Your Mind To All Possibilities – Andrew Chenery

salesFor over a decade, I have worked with different kinds of people from all different walks of life. There is one thing I have run into over and over again that severely hurts a person’s chance for success. I want to share it with you today, because it’s not just a problem adults have — your kids need to know this, as well!

I constantly come in contact with business people who won’t follow directions. They refuse to follow directions, they are not teachable and they constantly push the envelope to reinvent the wheel their own way. The vast majority of this type of person fails. They can’t keep a job, and they have very little stability. They can’t succeed in business because they’re unteachable and they’re forever looking for greener grass, always chasing the wind.

To start making a life changing decision and to start earning money from home, part time or full time Click Here

An unteachable person cannot listen to or learn from anyone. They say, “I know that already,” or“My way is better.” They have tons of ideas and suggestions, and they are always right — or so they think. But this will never help them to succeed.

On the other hand, a teachable person says, “Teach me! Show me! Guide me! Just tell me what to do, and I’ll do it.”  They are willing to put their ideas and suggestions aside in order to learn from someone else. They are more concerned with learning than they are with being right. These are the people who become outrageously successful.

This is not just my opinion. This is what I have seen as a businessman who has coached hundreds of people. I have seen who succeeds and who fails, and I’m telling you people who cannot follow directions get fired, go out of business, and have failing marriages and out-of-control children.

My friend, whether you have kids right now or not, I want you to think about what happens when a child is raised to be unteachable. They will not follow directions and will not obey you or anyone else. It will cause frustration in the home and in relationships. It will hinder them in school. It can keep them from getting a job. It will keep them from getting raises and promotions in their jobs, or even get them fired.

And why? Because they can’t follow directions. That’s why it’s so important to start teaching them while they’re young.

Because of my experience working with adults in business, I recognized this principle before I began raising kids.  I vowed to teach my kids to obey, follow directions and to follow through the first time I told them something. There was no room for, “But I don’t want to!” or “I’ll do it later.” They learned to say, “Yes!” and do what they were told, the first time they were told. If they did not obey, they were disciplined. This equipped them for success.

Today, they are honourable and respectful teenagers and young adults who gladly follow directions given by myself, as well as their bosses at work. They are so teachable and eager to learn, both at work and at home. This has positioned them for success for the rest of their lives.

Imagine being trained in this way as a child — follow directions the first time; hear a request and follow through immediately.

It doesn’t matter how old your children are, or how long you have been in a pattern of disobedience, procrastination and rebellion. It’s not too late!

You have to choose which outcome you want for you and your children — do you want to succeed or fail; do you want your children to succeed or fail?

Choose today to take steps toward being teachable and following directions. Next time you are asked to do something, try saying, “Sure, I’d be glad to!” instead of fighting the directive. Next time you are tempted to argue or say, “I know, I know,” stop for a moment and listen to what the other person has to say.

This will change your reputation and cause people to see you as reliable and dependable. It will set you up for success at work, at home and in your community. It will set your children up for a lifetime of success.

This is NOT something to mess around with. This one thing can and WILL make or break your future and the future of your children.

highly encourage you to share this with every parent, grandparent, teacher, youth leader, babysitter, and everyone who has or works with kids. Let’s do our part to help rain the next generation for success!  Just share this post on Facebook and Twitter.

I wish you a blessed day and to accept any opportunity that might come your way. Stay blessed & just keep smiling 🙂

How to Think Clearly

Hey there Friend,
I want you to imagine something with me right now. You are standing on a busy street corner in a big city. Traffic is thick — cars, lorries, taxis and buses are honking their horns. You hear babies crying and children begging their parents for the new toys they see in a shop window. You hear car alarms and emergency sirens. A teenager yells to his friend across the street. There are people rushing around everywhere, bumping into each other. The hustle and bustle of the city creates an overwhelming buzz of noise surrounding you on every side. It’s all noise.

Can you feel the stress, anxiety and pressure that comes with all the noise?

Now I want you to think about the kind of noise that goes on in your life every day. What is the noise you hear in your mind, in your home, in your job? What are the worries and cares that compete for your attention every moment of the day and night?

Have you ever noticed in the midst of that noise, it can be hard to keep moving forward? When you have so many different things begging for your time and energy, there is no peace, no stillness. It’s all about now, hurry, fast, react, get it done! You’ve become so used to the traffic in your mind that you’re now literally functioning on autopilot.

Your kids talk to you, but you can’t hear them. Your boss gives you directions, but you can’t comprehend. Your friends confide in you, but their words go in one ear and out the other.

The noise creates confusion and chaos. Your mind is constantly saying, “Go, go, now, now!” But where? You are no longer in control of your thoughts and actions — the traffic is in control. You no longer have the ability to make conscious decisions; you can only react with your subconscious.

Friend, isn’t it time to reclaim control? After all, this is YOUR life. This is your one shot, your all-or-nothing. Is it everything you want it to be? Are you designing the life you want to live? Or when you take a good look at parts of your life, do you wonder how on earth you ended up where you are?

My friend, I don’t want you to wake up one morning 5, 10, 20 years from now and say, “How did I get here? When did things go wrong? Why did my life turn out this way?” But that’s exactly what will happen if you do not stop the traffic, remove the noise and begin to design your life.

When was the last time your mind was still? When is the last time you felt peace? When is the last time you stole a moment away from the busy-ness of life to just be still?

I know there are things begging for your attention right this very moment. And yes, many of them are probably important things. But it’s so important to quiet your mind and really focus on the most important thing in the moment. Make decisions based on that, and not on the traffic in your mind.

When you have a clear and calm mind, you will find that it’s easier to make decisions that will set you up for the kind of success you desire in your life. You will eliminate stress, and experience peace instead. You will not be easily led astray, because you will know exactly where you’re going. A clear and calm mind means a clear and calm focus, and that is what will lead you to success.

It’s such a simple thing, but it can make all the difference.Just give it a shot today. Throughout the day, just stop and take a deep breath. Eliminate the noise, quiet your mind, and focus on what is most important in that very moment.

Friend, I can’t wait to see you reach your full potential. I truly believe you can and you will…IF you learn to eliminate the noiseand make decisions that will lead you to success.

Please pass this along to your friends and family members today. This is a reminder we all need sometimes, especially with the busy-ness we experience on a day-to-day basis. So take a few minutes right now to post this link on your Facebook and Twitter, or just forward this email.

Start seeing your Vision

Hey Friend,
I have a question for you today, and I really want you to take the time to think about it and answer honestly. It is a question with the power to literally change the course and outcome of your life… FOREVER.

What is your vision? What things have you dreamed of doing in your lifetime? When you were young, you had places you wanted to go, things you wanted to do, things you wanted to be. Do you remember what those dreams looked like? What happened to them?

Friend, there’s something you have to understand. There are very few people in the world today who have real vision.

In my early days, I had no vision. My biggest dream was to get a job & eventually maybe get married & have kids. That is a really tiny vision! It really doesn’t even qualify as vision, but that was my dream. My dream had nothing to do with finances, traveling around the world, helping other people or even raising great kids. I just didn’t want my kids or me to be treated badly.

So, how do you go from having no vision to having a huge, passionate vision worthy of living for? How do you get a vision that drives you, that is meaningful and purposeful, that makes you get out of bed in the morning?

How did I get from where I was to where I am now? It’s really simple.

If you don’t have a big vision for your life, that’s okay! Hang out with people who DO have vision, and it will rub off on you. That’s what happened to me.

I started hanging out with people of vision, and their vision became my vision. It wasn’t until someone else talked about living a financially independent life with great relationships and honorable children that I said, “Hey, that’s a great idea!” In all reality, my vision was an accumulation of several other people’s visions.

Then you get to a certain place in your life and a level of belief in yourself and your personal development when you say, “I wonder if I can do it THIS way…” So you set a goal, make a plan and take action to make it happen.

But Friend, today I want to take it a step further than just getting vision. The reality is, nothing becomes dynamic until it becomes specific.

It’s easy to say, “I want to help people.” But years will go by and you will still be saying, “I really want to help people!” It’s time to get SPECIFIC!

Do you want to feed orphans in Nicaragua? Do you want to build an orphanage in Belize? Do you want to rescue kids from the sex trade in Thailand? Do you want to take care of the elderly in your own city? When will you start? What supplies do you need? How will you do it? How much will it cost?

You must have a specific vision, and goals and plans to back it up. It cannot be some pie-in-the-sky idea floating around out there. Until you take the pie out of the sky, get the ingredients, prepare the pie and put it in the oven, you will end up with NO PIE!

You’ve got to set a goal, make a plan and take the necessary steps to make it happen.

So Friend, what is your vision? And WHY do you want to do it? If you do not know why you are doing what you’re doing, you will quit when it gets hard. Your vision will never carry you forward until you know the reason that drives you to do it. If your why isn’t big enough, you will quit at the first roadblock. You will be easily distracted by every other cool idea that comes along.

Today, I encourage you to really think about this. What is your vision? What is your why? And what is your plan to make it happen?

Like I said earlier, if you do not have a vision, that is okay! Now you know how to get a vision. And I promise you, if you hang around this blog community, and stay connected with the amazing people on our Facebook page, you will become a person of vision!

Take a moment right now to pass this message on to your friends, family and colleagues. We can all use a boost to strengthen our vision and keep us on the right track, so share this email and post this link on your Facebook and Twitter today!

Bear Fruit from Your Faith

http://ow.ly/1W96wK

20130812-090722.jpg
Last week I encountered someone in a management position, and I felt compelled to share this experience with you. It was a young manager I was dealing with, and I found something very peculiar.

First of all, I noticed right away that when she spoke to me, she was bright-eyed and all smiles. But as soon as one of her staff came over to her, she dimmed her eyes, lowered her eyebrows, lost her smile, and dropped her tone. This was all happening right in front of me, the customer.

Then she came back and talked to me and she was all smiles. She ask I’d been doing. Then another one of her staff came through and the same thing happened.

Have you ever encountered that? Or are you the manager who does that?

First of all, this does not look good to the customer. I was sitting there thinking, “Wow, that’s a bit two-faced! Look at the difference in how she treats her customers and how she treats the people she works with.” This was in a bank. These people work together everyday.

This manager did not have the proper people skills to help her pull the best out of her staff. Not only that, but she had a degrading tone. I felt so bad for the employee because it was so humiliating. This was all taking place in front of the customers.

There was something else that stood out to me. I talked with this manager to find out a little bit more about her and learned she considered herself a religious person. She spoke very highly of her Christian religion.

She said to me, “I see you were recently had dealings in one of our other banks. Who was the manager of the business services over there?” I told her it was Alice. She said, “Oh yeah…Alice. She and I have had a couple run-ins.” I thought to myself, “Well, I’m not surprised…”

She went on to say, “Alice and I got into a conversation about my religion. And well, I’ll just say this: NOBODY says anything bad about my religion. You can disrespect my religion one time, but I won’t take it again after that. You can argue with me about anything, but do NOT argue with me about God. Alice just doesn’t get it, though. I have planted some seeds about God in her life, and I’ll just have to pray those seeds come to fruition.”

I asked this young woman, “Do you think arguing with someone is the best way to lead them to God?” That definitely caused her to stop and think for a minute.

Here’s the reason I’m telling you this story: This young woman is a believer in the same God I believe in. She reads the same Bible I read. She is in a management position, and yet she is talking bad about another manager who does the exact same job she does. She treats her employees with humiliation and embarrassment.

Now, I’ve had lots of business dealings recently with Alice. She does not know my God. She does not read the same Bible I read. But Alice loves her staff and treats her team the same way she treats her customers – with honor and respect.

I did not hear Alice say anything bad or negative about anybody. She did not gossip about another bank’s manager, that’s for sure. The Christian manager was gossipping to me about someone I actually know and have a relationship with! I did not bash Alice over the head about my relationship with my God. I simply chose to love her as she was.

Please understand what I’m saying. If you are a believer in the same God, please evaluate your heart. If you are in any kind of leadership role, whether you’re a parent, a business owner, or community leader, loving one another is what we’re supposed to do. Do you treat your staff with disdain? Do you talk to them like they’re stupid?

If you call yourself a believer, we are held to a much higher responsibility. It’s through our conduct, the way we live out our lives, that we attract people to want what we have. What we have is God, His Word and His Son who was sent to die for our sins. We are supposed to be examples of that. Not judgmental, not disrespectful, not gossipping. We are called to a much higher place of responsibility than that. And it’s simple: Honor. Treat others the way we want to be treated.

Even if you’re NOT a believer! I respect you, no matter what your faith is. I really, truly do. I have hundreds of clients from every walk of life you can imagine, and I respect each of them. I understand where they’re coming from. I once hated God because of people who gossipped, judged and humiliated me, and did not follow the right example set by Him.

So whether you’re a believer or not, if you are in a leadership role, let The Daily Thoughts today inspire you to make a decision about what kind of person you will be.

Go ahead and share this message with your friends, family and colleagues today! This is a message we can all learn from, so forward this email or post the link on Facebook and Twitter

Financial Advice For Your Children

Do you talk to your children about money, and do you give them financial advice?

Chances are you don’t, since recent studies have shown that only 36% of adults in the UK feel qualified to discuss and give advice on money to their children.

The children, on the other hand, long for a guiding hand – more than 70 percent of children polled in a study said they would like for their parents to give them financial advice, and teach them about managing money.

The study was conducted by NatWest bank earlier this year, and in total interviewed over 50,000 teenagers across the UK.

Andrew Cave, of NatWest and RBS Community Affairs commented on the study, saying that it is clear that children desire to learn more about finances and managing money, and that they instinctively look to their parents for guidance. However, he went on to say, lots of adults do not feel comfortable discussing matters like that with their children, and less than 20 percent of adults polled could confidently describe what an APR is.

Because of this problem highlighted by the study, NatWest and many others are now calling on schools to better educate children about finances and money, so that every child will leave school able to make more informed financial decisions for their future.

But there are a lot of things parents can do at home to help teach their children about finances and money. One of the most important lessons to teach children is the value of savings, and teaching them responsibility. For example, in many situations it is better to have patience, save money, and get what you want later, rather than borrowing money on a credit card to get what you want right now. Avoiding impulse purchases and establishing a culture of saving is the most important thing to teach children when it comes to managing their money.

One of the best ways to get children involved in savings early and encourage them to contribute is through a Junior ISA. It is an account which lets the parents deposit up to £3,600 per year, and where all the earnings from the account such as interest accrued is received tax-free. One thing many parents have adopted is a system where they match their child’s contributions to their own savings. For example, if the child is encouraged to deposit some of his or her money, gotten from allowance or even better from doing odd jobs for friends and family or around the neighborhood, the parents can match his or her contributions to the savings account.

You can also check out how the savings are growing and compare accounts regularly together. Many accounts have a higher interest rate for a certain period of time or until a certain date, and if you (and your child!) are involved savers, you can take advantage of those offers and move on to greener grazing grounds once the special deal is over.

10 Reasons You Should Never Get A Job

A fine example of why using a tried and tested income-generating system like Utility Warehouse is a great way to go. An article which I found entirely riveting. If it causes a negative emotional response from you, be sure to reread his comments near the end as to why this might be…
Here goes:10 Reasons You Should Never Get A Job

Just for fun I recently asked, “Now that the kids are on summer hols, don’t you think it’s about time you went out and got yourself a job? I hate seeing you wallow in unemployment for so long.”

She smiled and said, “Wow. I have been unemployed a really long time. That’s weird… I like it!”

Neither of us have had jobs since the ’90s (my only job was in 1992), so we’ve been self-employed for quite a while. In our household it’s a running joke for one of us to say to the other, “Maybe you should get a job, derelict!”

It’s like the scene in The Three Stooges where Moe tells Curly to get a job, and Curly backs away, saying, “No, please… not that! Anything but that!”

It’s funny that when people reach a certain age, such as after graduating college, they assume it’s time to go out and get a job. But like many things the masses do, just because everyone does it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. In fact, if you’re reasonably intelligent, getting a job is one of the worst things you can do to support yourself. There are far better ways to make a living than selling yourself into indentured servitude.

Here are some reasons you should do everything in your power to avoid getting a job:

1. Income for dummies.

Getting a job and trading your time for money may seem like a good idea. There’s only one problem with it. It’s stupid! It’s the stupidest way you can possibly generate income! This is truly income for dummies.

Why is getting a job so dumb? Because you only get paid when you’re working. Don’t you see a problem with that, or have you been so thoroughly brainwashed into thinking it’s reasonable and intelligent to only earn income when you’re working? Have you never considered that it might be better to be paid even when you’re not working? Who taught you that you could only earn income while working? Some other brainwashed employee perhaps?

Don’t you think your life would be much easier if you got paid while you were eating, sleeping, and playing with the kids too? Why not get paid 24/7? Get paid whether you work or not. Don’t your plants grow even when you aren’t tending to them? Why not your bank account?

Who cares how many hours you work? Only a handful of people on this entire planet care how much time you spend at the office. Most of us won’t even notice whether you work 6 hours a week or 60. But if you have something of value to provide that matters to us, a number of us will be happy to pull out our wallets and pay you for it. We don’t care about your time — we only care enough to pay for the value we receive. Do you really care how long it took me to write this article? Would you pay me twice as much if it took me 6 hours vs. only 3?

Non-dummies often start out on the traditional income for dummies path. So don’t feel bad if you’re just now realizing you’ve been suckered. Non-dummies eventually realize that trading time for money is indeed extremely dumb and that there must be a better way. And of course there is a better way. The key is to de-couple your value from your time.

Smart people build systems that generate income 24/7, especially passive income. This can include starting a business, building a web site, becoming an investor, or generating royalty income from creative work. The system delivers the ongoing value to people and generates income from it, and once it’s in motion, it runs continuously whether you tend to it or not. From that moment on, the bulk of your time can be invested in increasing your income (by refining your system or spawning new ones) instead of merely maintaining your income.

This web site isn’t my only income stream either. I write each article just once (fixed time investment), and people can extract value from them year after year. The web server delivers the value, and other systems (most of which I didn’t even build and don’t even understand) collect income and deposit it automatically into my bank account. It’s not perfectly passive, but I love writing and would do it for free anyway. But of course it cost me a lot of money to launch this business, right? Um, yeah, £6 is an awful lot these days (to register the domain name). Everything after that was profit.

Plus the purchase of the working from home opportunity from Utility Warehouse has changed my life right from the get-go, ok purchasing my position in the company cost me a measly £100 – wow !! and what did that buy me : The opportunity to earn more part time than I could ever imagine full time, graphic designers, website designers,  legal advisors, marketing material, a full hosted website – I never have to touch it 🙂 , massive bonus’s and complete freedom of time to do what I want & when I want. Oh and after getting 3 yes I said 3 customers you get the £100 refunded back to you – and you then get paid true residual income each month & every month after that – truly amazing !!!Sure it takes some upfront time and effort to design and implement your own income-generating systems. But you don’t have to reinvent the wheel — feel free to use existing systems like ad networks and affiliate programs. Once you get going, you won’t have to work so many hours to support yourself. Wouldn’t it be nice to be out having dinner with your spouse, knowing that while you’re eating, you’re earning money? If you want to keep working long hours because you enjoy it, go right ahead. If you want to sit around doing nothing, feel free. As long as your system continues delivering value to others, you’ll keep getting paid whether you’re working or not.

Your local bookstore is filled with books containing workable systems others have already designed, tested, and debugged. Nobody is born knowing how to start a business or generate investment income, but you can easily learn it. How long it takes you to figure it out is irrelevant because the time is going to pass anyway. You might as well emerge at some future point as the owner of income-generating systems as opposed to a lifelong wage slave. This isn’t all or nothing. If your system only generates a few hundred dollars a month, that’s a significant step in the right direction.

2. Limited experience.

You might think it’s important to get a job to gain experience. But that’s like saying you should play golf to get experience playing golf. You gain experience from living, regardless of whether you have a job or not. A job only gives you experience at that job, but you gain ”experience” doing just about anything, so that’s no real benefit at all. Sit around doing nothing for a couple years, and you can call yourself an experienced meditator, philosopher, or politician.

The problem with getting experience from a job is that you usually just repeat the same limited experience over and over. You learn a lot in the beginning and then stagnate. This forces you to miss other experiences that would be much more valuable. And if your limited skill set ever becomes obsolete, then your experience won’t be worth squat. In fact, ask yourself what the experience you’re gaining right now will be worth in 20-30 years. Will your job even exist then?

Consider this. Which experience would you rather gain? The knowledge of how to do a specific job really well — one that you can only monetize by trading your time for money – or the knowledge of how to enjoy financial abundance for the rest of your life without ever needing a job again? Now I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have the latter experience. That seems a lot more useful in the real world, wouldn’t you say?

3. Lifelong domestication.

Getting a job is like enrolling in a human domestication program. You learn how to be a good pet.

Look around you. Really look. What do you see? Are these the surroundings of a free human being? Or are you living in a cage for unconscious animals? Have you fallen in love with the color beige?

How’s your obedience training coming along? Does your master reward your good behavior? Do you get disciplined if you fail to obey your master’s commands?

Is there any spark of free will left inside you? Or has your conditioning made you a pet for life?

Humans are not meant to be raised in cages. You poor thing…

4. Too many mouths to feed.

Employee income is the most heavily taxed there is. In the UK you can expect that about a third your salary will go in taxes. The tax system is designed to disguise how much you’re really giving up because some of those taxes are paid by your employer, and some are deducted from your wages. But you can bet that from your employer’s perspective, all of those taxes are considered part of your pay, as well as any other compensation you receive such as benefits. Even the rent for the office space you consume is considered, so you must generate that much more value to cover it. You might feel supported by your corporate environment, but keep in mind that you’re the one paying for it.

Another chunk of your income goes to owners and investors. That’s a lot of mouths to feed.

It isn’t hard to understand why employees pay the most in taxes relative to their income. After all, who has more control over the tax system? Business owners and investors or employees?

You only get paid a fraction of the real value you generate. Your real salary may be more than triple what you’re paid, but most of that money you’ll never see. It goes straight into other people’s pockets.

What a generous person you are!

5. Way too risky.

Many employees believe getting a job is the safest and most secure way to support themselves.

Morons.

Social conditioning is amazing. It’s so good it can even make people believe the exact opposite of the truth.

Does putting yourself in a position where someone else can turn off all your income just by saying two words (“You’re fired”) sound like a safe and secure situation to you? Does having only one income stream honestly sound more secure than having 10?

The idea that a job is the most secure way to generate income is just silly. You can’t have security if you don’t have control, and employees have the least control of anyone. If you’re an employee, then your real job title should be professional gambler.

6. Having an evil bovine master.

When you run into an idiot in the entrepreneurial world, you can turn around and head the other way. When you run into an idiot in the corporate world, you have to turn around and say, “Sorry, boss.”

Did you know that the word boss comes from the Dutch word baas, which historically means master? Another meaning of the word boss is “a cow or bovine.” And in many video games, the boss is the evil dude that you have to kill at the end of a level.

So if your boss is really your evil bovine master, then what does that make you? Nothing but a turd in the herd.

Who’s your daddy?

7. Begging for money.

When you want to increase your income, do you have to sit up and beg your master for more money? Does it feel good to be thrown some extra Scooby Snacks now and then?

Or are you free to decide how much you get paid without needing anyone’s permission but your own?

If you have a business and one customer says “no” to you, you simply say “next.”

8. An inbred social life.

Many people treat their jobs as their primary social outlet. They hang out with the same people working in the same field. Such incestuous relations are social dead ends. An exciting day includes deep conversations about the company’s switch between paper suppliers, the delay of Microsoft’s latest operating system, and the unexpected delivery of more Bic pens. Consider what it would be like to go outside and talk to strangers. Ooooh… scary! Better stay inside where it’s safe.

If one of your co-slaves gets sold to another master, do you lose a friend? If you work in a male-dominated field, does that mean you never get to talk to women above the rank of receptionist? Why not decide for yourself whom to socialize with instead of letting your master decide for you? Believe it or not, there are locations on this planet where free people congregate. Just be wary of those jobless folk — they’re a crazy bunch!

9. Loss of freedom.

It takes a lot of effort to tame a human being into an employee. The first thing you have to do is break the human’s independent will. A good way to do this is to give them a weighty policy manual filled with nonsensical rules and regulations. This leads the new employee to become more obedient, fearing that s/he could be disciplined at any minute for something incomprehensible. Thus, the employee will likely conclude it’s safest to simply obey the master’s commands without question. Stir in some office politics for good measure, and we’ve got a freshly minted mind slave.

As part of their obedience training, employees must be taught how to dress, talk, move, and so on. We can’t very well have employees thinking for themselves, now can we? That would ruin everything.

God forbid you should put a plant on your desk when it’s against the company policy. Oh no, it’s the end of the world! Cindy has a plant on her desk! Summon the enforcers! Send Cindy back for another round of sterility training!

Free human beings think such rules and regulations are silly of course. The only policy they need is: “Be smart. Be nice. Do what you love. Have fun.”

10. Becoming a coward.

Have you noticed that employed people have an almost endless capacity to whine about problems at their companies? But they don’t really want solutions – they just want to vent and make excuses why it’s all someone else’s fault. It’s as if getting a job somehow drains all the free will out of people and turns them into spineless cowards. If you can’t call your boss a jerk now and then without fear of getting fired, you’re no longer free. You’ve become your master’s property.

When you work around cowards all day long, don’t you think it’s going to rub off on you? Of course it will. It’s only a matter of time before you sacrifice the noblest parts of your humanity on the altar of fear: first courage… then honesty… then honor and integrity… and finally your independent will. You sold your humanity for nothing but an illusion. And now your greatest fear is discovering the truth of what you’ve become.

I don’t care how badly you’ve been beaten down. It is never too late to regain your courage. Never!

Still want a job?

If you’re currently a well-conditioned, well-behaved employee, your most likely reaction to the above will be defensiveness. It’s all part of the conditioning. But consider that if the above didn’t have a grain of truth to it, you wouldn’t have an emotional reaction at all. This is only a reminder of what you already know. You can deny your cage all you want, but the cage is still there. Perhaps this all happened so gradually that you never noticed it until now… like a lobster enjoying a nice warm bath.

If any of this makes you mad, that’s a step in the right direction. Anger is a higher level of consciousness than apathy, so it’s a lot better than being numb all the time. Any emotion — even confusion — is better than apathy. If you work through your feelings instead of repressing them, you’ll soon emerge on the doorstep of courage. And when that happens, you’ll have the will to actually do something about your situation and start living like the powerful human being you were meant to be instead of the domesticated pet you’ve been trained to be.

Happily jobless

What’s the alternative to getting a job? The alternative is to remain happily jobless for life and to generate income through other means. Realize that you earn income by providing value — not time – so find a way to provide your best value to others, and charge a fair price for it. One of the simplest and most accessible ways is to start your own business. Whatever work you’d otherwise do via employment, find a way to provide that same value directly to those who will benefit most from it. It takes a bit more time to get going, but your freedom is easily worth the initial investment of time and energy. Then you can buy your own Scooby Snacks for a change.

One of the greatest fears you’ll confront is that you may not have any real value to offer others. Maybe being an employee and getting paid by the hour is the best you can do. Maybe you just aren’t worth that much. That line of thinking is all just part of your conditioning. It’s absolute nonsense. As you begin to dump such brainwashing, you’ll soon recognize that you have the ability to provide enormous value to others and that people will gladly pay you for it. There’s only one thing that prevents you from seeing this truth — fear.

All you really need is the courage to be yourself. Your real value is rooted in who you are, not what you do. The only thing you need actually do is express your real self to the world. You’ve been told all sort of lies as to why you can’t do that. But you’ll never know true happiness and fulfillment until you summon the courage to do it anyway.

The next time someone says to you, “Get a job,” I suggest you reply as Curly did: ”No, please… not that! Anything but that!” Then poke him right in the eyes.

You already know deep down that getting a job isn’t what you want. So don’t let anyone try to tell you otherwise. Learn to trust your inner wisdom, even if the whole world says you’re wrong and foolish for doing so. Years from now you’ll look back and realize it was one of the best decisions you ever made.
