Stop Making Excuses and Grow Your Business – FPUK.co

FPUK.co Growth

Hi and good morning to you,

Today I’m looking out from my office window, down the garden and theres a very light frost on the ground. We’ve been blessed so far this year we’ve had no snow yet here in the UK and this is the first frost I’ve seen.
When it comes to growing your business, there is one thing you must ALWAYS be doing. It may be Easter Holidays soon, but that is no excuse! You have to continually expose your product, service or ideas. And sometimes you have to think outside the box.

There is no limit to the different ways you can get your offer out to others who need to see or hear it. Think about it – TV and radio commercials, newspaper and magazine ads, on the Internet, flyers and talking to other people.

A lot of people spend big money on advertising, but they overlook one form of exposure that is absolutely free! This form of exposure will help you build your business, meet new clients and recruit new staff for your company.

Let’s say you are opening a restaurant. You got finance to start up your restaurant. The money pays for everything you need to begin operating – equipment, tables, chairs, tablecloths, silverware, menus and signs. It pays for all the initial food and uniforms for your staff. But by the time you open, you have spent all your money on equipment and staff, and you have no money left for advertising.

What are you going to do? How will you let people know your restaurant even exists? Most people think, “Well, I hope people will find it.” No! People won’t just happen to wander in one day. You will go out of business if you do not find a way to bring people through your front door. What would you do?

You would have to talk to everyone you know and let them know about your restaurant. If you picked up the phone and called everyone – your immediate family, extended family, past colleagues, old high school friends, church members, old bosses, the plumber, the family doctor and dentist, mechanic, hairdressers, manicurists, friends, acquaintances from your kids’ school, teachers – you would gain an enormous amount of business.

There is a ton of missed business because people do not promote their product or service to their own list of resources. But those who do use this form of exposure often have a huge number of new and returning customers… and it’s all free!

I know of someone who used this form of exposure in a very strategic way. She is a manicurist who needed to expand her business. When she first started, she exposed her business every day. Once she got a healthy clientele, she did what most people do and stopped exposing. And as her clientele dwindled, she blamed the economy.

She was told, “You can use the economy or holiday time as an excuse and go broke like everyone else out there, or you can get back to exposing your business aggressively.” She brainstormed several ways she could expose her business and bring in new clients.

She called a bank manager (because banks typically have lots of female employees) and offered a free manicure as an incentive for the employee who got the most accounts, loan applications or department referrals. The branch manager loved it because this incentive was great for the bank, and it did not cost them a penny!

She got her name out to that entire bank branch and brought in brand new clients, all from one phone call. As a result, she increased her income by £800 in the first 30 days.

How are you exposing your business today? If you are not continually building your client base, seeking new referrals and increasing your exposure, your business will not grow. You should constantly be adding to your list of resources, meeting new people and building new relationships. Don’t be like 98% of the people who are blaming the economy, using the Easter holidays as an excuse to MISS OUT! You should always be thinking about different ways you can attract new clients you would normally not have access to, just like the manicurist did.

I would also love to hear your ideas of how to increase exposure for your business. Leave your comments for me and make sure to Like and Share today’s message.

That’s it for today, I want you to think right now, “who can I tell today about my business?” because you need to be growing your business and telling 3 new people everyday.

This is your life now make it count.

Stay blessed

Andrew 🙂

Things To Do In Holidays – FPUK.co

easter 2014

Hi Friends,
For many, Easter holidays will be starting soon, and while the kids are overjoyed about their newfound freedom, many parents are not so overjoyed. Soon you may hear the two little words every parent dreads: “I’m booorrrrred!!!”

Some parents will put their kids in front of the TV or video games for a a couple of weeks of mind-numbing screen time. Other parents will dig deep into their wallets (or simply swipe the credit card) to send their kids to workshops and amusement parks and all different kinds of activities.

But Easter Holiday fun does not have to break the bank! In fact, with a little imagination and planning, you can have the most enjoyable and affordable break ever!

Today I want to give you a few ideas to get you started on the right track. The options truly are endless!

Turn off the TV! Enjoy the beautiful weather instead. Go on a walk, visit the zoo, go camping in the backyard, or go to the swimming pool. You’ll have more fun exploring and getting some fresh air than you would sat in front of the TV!
Find inexpensive and/or free activities in your area. Attend sporting events or concerts. Find local festivals, celebrations or neighbourhood parties. Hold an Easter BBQ. Invite the neighbours kids for a water balloon fight, create an obstacle course, or stage your own Backgarden Olympics.
Give the kids a chance to learn entrepreneurial skills by setting up a car boot or garage sale or starting a dog walking business. They can even help the neighbours with garden work or housecleaning. This is a great way to teach your kids how to start and run a business, as well as how to manage their time and money.
Spend quality time together as a family. Have a Family Game Night, cook dinners together or bake cup cakes with the kids. Spend time really listening to your kids and taking this time to learn more about what makes them tick. When they look back at their Easter Holidays, these are the things they will remember.
Are you catching what I’m saying?? There are tons of ways to be fun and adventurous without spending tons of money! I would love to know what your Easter Holiday plans are. How do you plan to make this a fun, memorable and affordable  break? Leave your comments for me!

It would be a great idea to talk with your family about this, as well. Get their ideas. Find out what your kids would like to do during their break. (You may be surprised by what their idea of fun is!) Pass this message around to your friends, colleagues and people in your community in addition to Liking and Sharing today’s post! There’s always room for more ideas for inexpensive fun.

Thats it for today – start thinking & planning, set time aside to plan for the best for your family.

Stay Blessed

Andrew

Empowered Like Never Before – FPUK.co

Business-Tools

Hi Friends,

Wow I am completely blown away, encouraged, motivated like never before since Escaping The Rat Race and providing for myself. Ive just got back from our yearly conference and I am shocked at how much dedication and determination our management team are giving us by providing us with the tools to do the job.

Whether you are in business for yourself or working for someone else, do you have to correct tools to do your job or the work you need to do? Do you always wish it would be easier if I had that tool or if this worked better it would be so much easier. Well most of you know that I’ve been involved with Network Marketing since 1992 and have worked for a few companies until I found the fit for me. Now I know I have the perfect glove that fits what I want to be doing.

I initially needed more income coming in alongside my full time Landscaping Business, I needed more time freedom to allow me time with my family, children’s school assemblies and other things during the day, like being able to ‘do lunch’ or ‘do coffee’ when ever i wanted to and not worry about the money not coming in while I was taking time out from working.

Thats the beauty of Residual Income which basically means being paid forever just for doing something once, my previous companies I’d worked for, and when I was employed I only got paid for the hours I did or for the products I made, and when I didn’t work I didn’t get paid and that sucked.

Now I visit a client once and show them how to easily save money and then I get paid from that one visit every month month after month – forever, now that is the power of Residual Income providing time freedom.

But we’ve now been given even better tools by the leaders in our business, tools that get the job done so much easier than ever before with little to no room for error and guaranteed success.

Do you have the correct tools, are your leaders in your job, business or industry keeping with cutting edge technology to make it easier to do your job, provide better earnings for you and therefore better income for the business?

Never before have I been this excited about my future and the possibilities it gives me and all those in our business to achieve the dreams they set out to achieve.

If you are based in the UK and would like to know more about the business I’m in then please call me on 01394 549364 or 087930 464461 for a chat and I’d love to be able to help you.

Ok the suns shining this morning and my morning cup of coffee is waiting for me outside, so have an awesome day stay blessed and seek those better tools today.

Blessings

Andrew 🙂

How To Prosper – FPUK.co

prosper
Hi Friends,

Today I want to visit with you about seasons of famine and seasons of plenty. You see, in life… things happen. And occasionally they spin totally out of your control. You never know when you’ll have an emergency, a sudden left turn or get stuck without a job.

Sometimes you plant the right seeds, you till, you slave and you nourish those seeds. But if you plant during a season of drought you might not be seeing the crop you worked so hard for.

The only way to see yourself through these times, is to prepare for the season of famine. If you are gluttonous or a spoiled brat addicted to pleasures, you will not survive the famine! He who tills his land will have plenty of food, But he who follows empty pursuits will have poverty in plenty. (Proverbs 28:19)

Learn to get your body off the drugs of spending on pleasures and luxuries. You need to condition yourself to live a simple a life so you can accumulate wealth while others are going broke. This will also provide you with a reserve during the seasons of famine.

What season are you currently in? If you are in seasons of plenty:

  1. Work on paying off your debt NOW, while you can.
  2. Simplify your lifestyle, sell stuff you don’t need and live on less.
  3. Don’t spend every dime you make! If you spend every dollar you make, you are not being a good steward of your seeds. But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.(Deuteronomy 8:18)

If you are in a season of famine:

  1. Don’t use credit cards to keep up a facade of financial stability. SIMPLIFY
  2. If you don’t have an income, get one now. Whiners will starve, do-ers will win (and eat).
  3. Take responsibility and make the needed changes. Stop blaming the economy, the job market, your parents or whatever!
  4. Grow your skills. Especially with people. Remember, opportunity comes from people and so does money.
  5. Stop looking for the easy way to succeed. It will lead you to a dead end!
  6. As soon as you start making money, don’t spend it! Refer to back to the tips for seasons of plenty.

Our first 10 years in business we made money and repeatedly lost it! After that we finally got smart and figured out how to make, keep and grow it.

It starts with killing your greed and gluttony. Great wealth is in the house of the righteous, But trouble is in the income of the wicked.(Proverbs 15:6) I’m not saying you can’t have fun or pleasures. I’m saying get off the drug of excess. You will massively decrease your stress once you simplify.

Don’t fear your season of famine, prepare for it! Share your thoughts with me on today’s message and don’t forget to Like and Share this with your friends or family. What season is your life in?

Have an amazing day and stay blessed

Andrew

Get Paid For Doing Your Chores – FPUK.co

Cash pic

Hi Friends,

As we are on the crest of a new season, it is the perfect time to sit down and figure out what you would like to happen in the next few months. What would you like to accomplish, where would you like to go?

This is a great time to clean out your garage, de-clutter that attic, organize the cupboards and clean out your car. That probably wasn’t the fun answer you were looking for, but let me explain how all of this can actually HELP you out.

The season we are prepping to enter is all about fresh, new things. SO today I want to share a few fresh ideas to help you dump the old and fatten your wallet while you’re at it.

1. In the coming weeks, the weather will start getting nicer – it’s just got to… right!? So start planning a garage sale! As you’re cleaning your house, sorting through the clutter that has accumulated over the last year, and organizing the garage, use this opportunity to get rid of the things you no longer use. Have the kids grown out of their clothes and shoes? Do you have extra tools lying around that never get used? You can even get together with several other families and have a huge multi-family garage sale! This is a great way to make some quick cash AND rid your home of all that clutter.

2. As you are cleaning behind the washer and dryer or vacuuming the sofa cushions, start a coin collection. You’d be surprised how quickly coins add up between the cup holder in your car and the pile on your dressing table.

3. Stop going to the car wash. By cutting your own lawn, washing your car or pets at home, you will save pounds in the long run. Now that the weather will be more bearable there is no excuse to pay someone else to do work around the house.

Those may seem like 3 very small things that may not matter very much. But here’s what most people get wrong when it comes to money: They think they have to wait to pay off their debt until they can do it all at once. They think they have to make huge changes or no changes at all. They think the small changes or actions are insignificant, so they don’t make them.

But the TRUTH is, small, simple steps lead to big results. If you wait until you make more money or you win the lottery, or you can afford to pay off all your debt at once, you will stay broke and in debt the rest of your life.

So choose today to make the small changes. Choose to follow the tips I gave you today. And I would really love to hear your best spring cleaning tips as well – especially if they will help others save money or make money! Leave me your comments and be sure to Like and Share today’s message.

Stayed blessed and have an amazing day.

Don’t tell Lies in Business

How do you feel about liars? I think I probably know your answer on that one, cause you and I probably feel the same about them. But what I find so fascinating is that most people don’t like when people lie, but a lot of people seem to have no problem with telling little white lies. And let me just explore this with you for a minute.

I think it’s safe to assume that most people would say they don’t lie. If asked, most would say, “You can trust me, I don’t lie.” But a lot of those same people would turn around and tell a little white lie. Maybe they were supposed to be somewhere and they weren’t, or they give you a lie as to why they didn’t respond to an email. It could be a little, tiny lie, and they think that’s somehow okay.

You may not realize this, but an excuse is also a well planned little lie. You know the ones I’m talking about – saying you’re going to be somewhere and then you’re not there, so you make up a little story as to why you couldn’t show. I’m sure a few occasions from your past pop into your head.

Throughout the years, I have caught a lot of people in a lot of different lies, both little ones and big ones. In fact, I grew up with pathological liars. There was a benefit to growing up in the home I grew up in, with all the drugs and abuse and lies – I have this discernment that can sniff out untruth.

And I’m here to break some news to you. If you speak untruths – big or small, it all has the same effect. The second someone catches you in a lie your word is less valuable to them. Even if it was just a little mishap.

I want you to think of how you feel when you know someone has told you a little lie. I’m not talking about the big things – I’m talking about the little lies that don’t really even have a point. Just little inconsistencies and exaggerations. Don’t you start to take their stories or promises with a grain of salt? Sometimes you even dig deeper to try to see if something they said is actually the truth.

Let me give you a quick example on how a small lie can make a big difference. Your office manager asks you to run to the shop and pick up some supplies. He asks explicitly for the cheapest paper in the shop. You run out, but you are in a rush so you just grab whatever and call it good.

When you return your office manager isn’t stupid, he can see right away you grabbed a brand name, so he asks, “This is the cheapest?” and you say, “Yep.”

Because you’re thinking, what’s the big deal? So I paid an extra pound. The deal isn’t the paper, or even the money. At that moment the big deal is you lied about something so stupid and so unnecessary! This type of action and white lie causes your manager to think less of your word, and less of your character. And when it comes time to pass out promotions that little lie (or more likely you have used many little ones at this point) will hold you back.

If you aren’t faithful with the little things, if you aren’t being truthful about the little things – you will never be trusted with the big things! So maybe you’re in home business or this situation doesn’t really apply to you.

But the effect these white lies have on your relationships is even worse. Man if there is distrust, excuses, and little lies littering your relationship with your spouse, family or even close friends, those relationships are probably strained. And it is likely causing you unneeded stress and conflict. Lies deteriorate your relationships!

Big, small, white, black, exaggerations, excuses, well planned, spur of the moment. Steer clear from any type of lie! You may think what’s the big deal, it isn’t hurting anyone (if you manage to get away with it). But it hurts you in a huge way, spiritually.

Just admit you blew it, you forgot, you fell asleep and remedy the situation. Clear the air and move on! Wouldn’t you appreciate if the people you spoke to didn’t give you some crap excuse or little lie about things? Then it’s time to start living it yourself! And you might want to pass it on. Like, share and leave comments here.

Print this out right NOW, and start teaching this to your kids immediately. Let them know that the dog ate my homework excuse ain’t cutting it in this household. Your character and your word determine your success in relationships, career and life!

Thank you for reading today’s daily thought I look forward to speaking to you again soon. In the mean time have a great day.

Top Tip For Massive Results

I want to paint a picture for you today. Imagine a farm. Imagine that you have put in hundreds of thousands of pounds and countless hours to plant your crops. You bought the land, prepared the fields, sowed the seeds, and worked day and night to protect and nurture your plants. But then one day, you decide your crops weren’t growing fast enough, so you uproot all of the plants and move them to a new farm.

What would happen to your crops then? They would die, wouldn’t they? You would not reap a harvest. All of the time and effort you put into your farm would be wasted.

I know you’re thinking, “Andrew, that’s just silly! I would never do that! I would never rip up my roots and try to plant them somewhere else just because the plants weren’t growing fast enough or not producing enough fruit.”

But the reality is, that’s what most people do. Most people fail because they walk away from what they have already built because they have been seduced by shiny objects, better opportunities, better opportunities, or better jobs.

In my years of studying people, I’ve noticed that most people have a tendency to start and stop things, but they never stick it out long enough to have real success. They never see anything through to completion. They always have their feelers out, searching for the greener grass that always seems to be somewhere else.

Lots of people will give something a try, but very few will actually pursue that thing. They will stand at the edge and stick their toes in, but they never go ‘all in’. They will dabble in lots of different businesses, industries, and jobs, but they never establish themselves in any one.

That seems to be the norm in our society today. But here’s what most people don’t realize: If you get started in something and you give yourself 90 days to succeed, or otherwise you’re outta there, you are setting yourself up to fail. If you uproot yourself and move around, always looking for greener grass and better soil, you will never get rooted anywhere. And it’s impossible to succeed without roots. This goes for a job, business, marriage, parenting, and everything.

Whether you realize it or not, you are building equity, whether you work for yourself or for someone else. When you uproot yourself, you lose everything you’ve worked for – equity in a business, emotional equity, financial equity, mental equity, sweat equity. When you quit, you lose all of that, and you have to start over from the beginning.

There is ALWAYS opportunity right in front of you. There is always an opportunity to grow and learn and make something out of what you currently have. You are always building equity. 98% of the population does not see it that way, and you are limited by what you cannot see.

So today, I want you to really evaluate yourself. Think about how much opportunity you’ve missed in your life due to your limited thinking. The bottom line is this: The deeper the roots, the bigger and better the fruit. If you have no roots, you will have no fruit.

What would happen if, instead of jumping around and continuously going after the next bright, shiny object, you decided to stay committed to what you are currently doing for 5 years? That means saying “NO” to any other job offer or business opportunity. That means not even entertaining the thought of a new opportunity. What would happen if you went ‘all in’ for 5 solid years?

You would sink your roots in deep and you would produce fruit. Instead of getting impatient, you would sow seeds, nurture and protect your sprouts, and you would produce fruit in your business, career, relationships, and finances. So be patient! Be wise! Be persistent! And know that as you press forward, you will see results.

I have known many people throughout the years who have had a tendency to rip up their roots, and therefore have had very little or no success as a result. I know you know several people who fall into that category as well. So let’s do what we can to help them today. Go ahead and forward this email to your friends, family, colleagues, and even your clients. Post this link on your social media sites right now. Because there are people you know whose success depends on this message. It would also be a good idea to discuss it with your family as well.

J-O-B Respect

20140122-063018.jpg

Hi Friends

Today I want to talk to you about a mindset that is very common in the world of home business, and it is very limiting and very harmful to your future success.

You have probably encountered someone with this mindset, either in person or on Facebook. They talk about how horrible it is to have a job. You know, a J-O-B, ‘Just-Over-Broke’. These people try to recruit people into their business so they can finally ‘fire their boss’ and ‘break free from their 9-5 prison’. Many people use these phrases without even realizing what they’re even saying, or the result of the words they speak.

But today I want to pick this mindset apart and expose the truth about it. Because it really does set you up for failure, whether you have a job or career, or you are a business owner.

First, let’s talk about the business owner who tries to recruit people using these tactics. They say, “Hey, you still have a J-O-B? Come on, it’s time to fire your boss and start creating your own success, not your boss’s!”

But tell me, what kind of people do you think you will attract by motivating them by how much they hate their job and their boss, or by their feelings of being ‘trapped in a J-O-B’? You are painting a picture of being ungrateful and unhappy. You plant negative thoughts in their minds about their job or their boss, which then causes them to think and act negatively at work.

Because of the thoughts you have put into their minds, they are no longer prospering where they are planted. They are not working with excellence and diligence in their job because they now have a completely different perspective. They heard about a business opportunity, and suddenly their view of having a job totally changes. And if they can’t prosper where they’re planted when working at a job, what makes you think it will be any different when they get started in your business?

So you are not only sabotaging yourself here, by creating an attitude in that person that, quite frankly, you’re not going to want to work with even if they did decide to work with you in your business. But you are sabotaging the other person’s success in their job. It is not beneficial for you OR them. It does not help you build a business.

Not to mention, you reap what you sow. If you put those kinds of thoughts about their job into that person’s mind and they rip up their roots to move to your bright and shiny opportunity, what’s going to happen when someone else comes along and feeds them negative thoughts about you and your business and then offers them a different bright and shiny opportunity? They’re going to take it! And why? Because you reap what you sow.

I also want us to look at the other perspective – the employee. See, if you allow yourself to start listening to those phrases and speaking them, they will take root inside of your mind. It will cause you to hate your job, hate your boss, hate the people you work with, and hate that you have to work at a job 9-5.

But tell me, can you have that kind of attitude towards your 9-5 life, and then after-hours, turn around and have a good, positive mindset of an entrepreneur? NO! You can’t.

Not only that, but what is your work environment like when you have that mindset? You are just there sucking the air out of that place. People don’t like being around negative people. And guess what! When you hate where you are and what you’re doing, you are negative!

Please understand me when I say this – I am NOT bashing any industry or business. And I’m NOT saying you shouldn’t start a business, or even that you shouldn’t work a business full-time. I am simply exposing a very damaging mindset that has become very common, because I truly care about your success. I want to see you succeed.

Our culture tells us that if we’re not happy, we should move on to something else that will make us happy. It is because of that mindset that people are so easily tantalized and seduced into other bright shiny opportunities. It is because of that mindset that people do not have roots. They decide they don’t like what they’re doing, or ‘it’s not working’ or they get bored, so they uproot themselves and move on to something different without even giving themselves a chance to succeed in anything. The bottom line is, the deeper the roots, the bigger and better the fruit.

Now that you can see what this ‘J-O-B’ mindset really looks like and the results, you know it is not beneficial. It will not help you grow your business. It will actually hurt you and the people around you.

So set yourself up for success instead of failure today by not listening and giving into the mindset that says it’s a nuisance to have a job. Choose to work with diligence and excellence – both in skill and in attitude – and to prosper where you’re planted, whether that’s a business or a job. Learn to lead others properly and to form mutually beneficial relationships. Protect your future with honor instead of burning bridges. You will be amazed by how successful you will become!

I know you know a few (or several) people who have been affected by this mindset, either personally or by someone they know. It would be wise to go ahead and send this to them now. You can also be proactive and send this message to your employees/colleagues, as well as your business partners today. You can forward this email, or share this link on Facebook and Twitter.

That’s it for today, go out there and make the difference to your life, your family’s lives and to everyone you know and come across today

Stay blessed

Money Saving Spring Cleaning Tips

Spring is here! I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but here in the UK it is just gorgeous! The weather is amazing, and everything is so green.

Have you done your spring cleaning yet? This is a great time to not only clean out your garage or attic, organize your home, and clean your car, but you can also save a lot of money and even make money in the process!

We are in the season of fresh and new things, so today I want to share a few fresh ideas with you to help you make the most of your spring cleaning:

Have a garage sale. As you’re cleaning your house, sorting through the clutter that has accumulated over the last year, and organizing the garage, use this opportunity to get rid of the things you no longer use. Have the kids grown out of their clothes and shoes? What about the boxes of “someday” clothes in the attic? (You know, the ones you will fit into again ‘someday’…) Do you have extra tools lying around that never get used? You can even get together with several other families and have a huge multi-family garage sale! This is a great way to make some quick cash AND rid your home of all the clutter.

Step away from the car wash! Steer clear of the automatic carwash places. You have soap, old rags, and a water hose at home – USE THEM! This is a fun thing for the whole family to do together. (Can anyone say, ‘water fight’???) Take advantage of the nice weather. Get outside and get some fresh air, and mark that task off your list at the same time.

Keep those coins! As you’re cleaning under the couch cushions and the bottom of the closets and behind the washer and dryer, hold on to those coins you find. You may think, “What’s a few pennies here and there?” but believe me, they add up! Cash in those coins and pay off some of your debt, or put them in your holiday fund.
Those may seem like 3 very small things that may not matter that much.

You can leave your comments here.

It would also be great to spread this around your community. These days, everyone is looking for ways to save money, and these tips are some very easy ways to do that. Just forward this email, post this link on your social media platforms, and let’s help our families, colleagues, and neighbours get the most out of their spring cleaning this year!

How to Increase Trust in Relationships

Hi,
Last week, I had a conversation with someone who was having a hard time with her manager at work. We’ve all had challenges like that before, where we seem to constantly bang heads with other people, whether it’s your spouse, kids, manager, or even your clients.

This particular individual was banging heads with her manager. I told her she needed to have a conversation with the manager. You know, it’s always so interesting to me that when someone has a problem with someone else, the last person they want to talk to is the person they’re banging heads with.

So I asked her if she knew what she needed to say, and she thought for a minute, and she said, “I should probably go directly to her, smile, sit & talk.” I said, “Yes, that’s probably a really good idea. I know the heart of your manager is FOR you. She wants to see you succeed. I also know your manager is probably harder on herself than she is anybody else. There is a way to communicate with her in a way that will bring harmony. As you work through this difficult spot in working with her, there’s going to be a great relationship that comes out of it. Trust is not developed during easy times. Trust is developed through the hard stuff.”

Do you realize that is the truth, ?

I said to this individual, “Tell me why you trust me.” She said, “Because you’ve helped me through some really hard stuff. You loved me through the hard stuff, and you didn’t judge me for my mistakes, but you shared your mistakes.” I told her, “Exactly! That is why you trust me!”

It is not in the happy, easy times that we build trust. We develop trust with other people through bad situations and things we don’t want to confront. As long as we’re confronting issues from the right heart and with the right mind, that’s when good relationships are built.

An easy way to understand complicated people

People can be complicated and hard to understand. Whether it’s your spouse, colleagues, clients, or children, confusion and miscommunications happen from time to time. The good news is there is an easy way to eradicate those communication breakdowns and create harmony instead.

People have it so backwards today. They think a good relationship means you never have an argument or a disagreement. That couldn’t be further from the truth! The truth is, a good relationship is built when you work through those times. It is built when you make it through the earthquake together. When you stick together through hard times, that’s when you see character come out. You get to see somebody’s heart and their motives, and trust is built through that.

So don’t be like most people, who believe a good relationship is always good, and everything is always perfect and everyone is happy all the time. That is a bunch of nonsense! That is a Disneyland fantasy – NOT a reality. People have that exact same mindset about money – “I hope to get lucky someday. All the rich people just got lucky and got the good jobs and know all the right people.” You have fun with that belief system, but don’t be surprised when you end up broke at 65.

If you want good, solid relationships in your life, and you want to be able to trust other people and yourself, you’ve got to get the skills that help you confront issues in order to bring restoration.
